Science Clubs

Registration is Open!

The Fleet Science Center offers Science Clubs for grades 5-8! Each session will be filled with new challenges, hands-on activities that can done using materials found in your home and has challenges for students of all ages. Through this program students will explore an array of fields including biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, physics, robotics and much more!

In Person Sessions

  • Members $13 per week
  • Nonmembers $15 per week

Sunday Science Club is held one Sunday per month from 1 to 3 p.m.  Sunday classes are co-ed.

Use science to create potions and illusions like your favorite wizards from books and movies. You won’t believe your eyes!

November – Volcanoes

Sunday, November 14, 2021:

Discuss the different layers of the earth and discover how tectonic plates create different types of volcanoes.

December – Gingerbread Engineering

Sunday, December 12, 2021:
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Build a gingerbread structure that can withstand moving earth, elements, weight and examine what forces can make these structures strong.

January  Chemistry of Cosmetics

Become a cosmetic chemist by performing scientific tests on product samples and mix up your own concoction to take home!

February – Valentine’s Day Science

Express your love for science this Valentine's Day! Experience some hot and cold reactions and other Valentine's Day experiments.

March – Pi and Other Math Treats

Investigate the notorious and infinite decimal known as pi. Celebrate Pi Day and amaze your friends with math tricks that seem like magic!

April – Circuit Board Game

Become a circuitry wiz and create an original board game that lights up with the correct answer!

May – Sunny Science

Sunday, May 15, 2022:

Renewable energy is the way of the future! Learn how sunshine can be used to make energy and delicious snacks.

For young children ages 3-5, we offer Young Scientists workshops for you and your little scientist.

For students in grades 1-4, we offer our Junior Science Clubs.
