Fleetster Friday: Meet Pamela Truffa
It’s Fleetster Friday! Today we feature Bankers Hill resident and one of our amazing Managers on Duty (MOD), Pamela Truffa. As a MOD, she is one of the first friendly faces you see when you come to the Fleet. Her duties range from working with volunteers, handling customer service issues, providing first aid and a variety of other tasks but overall, she is in charge of the wellbeing and safety of our building and everyone in it. She describes her position at the Fleet as challenging, rewarding, ever-changing and interactive. Like a true San Diegan, Pam has chosen the ocean and dolphin-watching as her favorite thing about our sunny city.
Complete this sentence: I love science because…
It provokes thinking out of the box and many times provides that “ah-ha” moment in the end.
If you could choose any two famous people to have dinner with who would they be?
Ellen DeGeneres, because she is super fun, funny and silly. And, John Legend, because he is kind, gracious and a very talented singer.
Are you a sunrise, daylight, twilight, or nighttime person? Why?
It depends where I am at. In Maui, Hawaii, it’s all about the sunrise, as I love to watch the sunrise up from Haleakala. In San Diego, I love daylight, as I like to get the most of the day. I even get up early and go to bed early.
If you could have an unlimited supply of just one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Toilet paper. KIDDING! Bouquets of fresh-cut flowers.
What is your favorite musical instrument and why?
Probably the piano. There are so many different types of music that can be played with it and I enjoy listening to the piano.
Are you a traveler or a homebody?
Definitely a traveler! My husband and I love to travel. It’s relaxing, provides adventure and lends to exploring new places, things and foods.
