It’s Fleetster Friday! Today we feature Exhibition Manager and South Park resident, Ashanti Davis. Ashanti describes her job as “creating unique and engaging experiences” as she works as part of a collaborative team to care for the Fleet’s permanent exhibitions, designs new experiences and manages the technical care of our traveling exhibitions.

Ashanti is also an avid promoter of the Fleet programs and exhibitions on the news, participates in a host of internal groups to further foster our collaborative force as an organization and is a co-leader of one of the Fleet’s internal groups which focuses on Organizational Culture and IDEA work. Ashanti is a fan of Balboa Park’s very own Rose Garden, but her favorite place in San Diego is the Cabrillo National Monument.

Do fur coats and bead-work count as a trend? There is something incredibly glamorous about 20’s fashion.

What would be the most surprising scientific discovery imaginable?

If we could discover that black holes were in fact the end or beginning, or a wormhole to a parallel universe, I think that would be pretty surprising and incredible.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An Astronaut (shoutout to Mae Jemison) and a Veterinarian.

Neither! I think I am more of an all-day kind of person.
