Have our education outreach staff deliver science programs directly to your school, library, community center or other educational venues. These programs are also available as after-school programs. We also offer live science shows for assemblies. Visit our Science Shows page for more information.

All Science To Go programs are 1 hour long; Supersized Science programs are 90 minutes long. Programs are offered Monday-Friday.

Programs must be scheduled two weeks in advance and are based on availability. Due to the high volume of requests, we recommend calling at least a month in advance, with at least two date options in mind.

Weekend programs are available with advance notice. Daytime outreach programs are scheduled in 90-minute blocks to allow for set-up and breakdown times.

Full List of Offered Programs

Adventurous Architects

K - Grade 4

Explore the science of physics, engineering and architecture. Students will plan, build and test structures as they participate in a variety of engineering challenges using ROK blocks.

Body Works

Grade 4 - Grade 6

Explore the “ins and outs” of the body's many systems as they work together to help us do everything from basic everyday functions to some amazing feats!

Chemistry Concepts

Grade 3 - Grade 6

Take an intimate look at the indicators of a chemical change in this inquiry-based investigation of the properties of matter.

Electric Avenue

Grade 3 - Grade 6

Use an inquiry-based approach to understand the relationship between electricity and magnetism. Shocking experiments illuminate this challenging subject.

Energy Explorers

Grade 3 - Grade 7

What is energy? Students investigate several different forms of energy, including light, sound, electrical, chemical, and thermal energy.

Engineering by Design

Grade 3 - Grade 6

Students will work in groups as they experience what it is like to be an engineer. They will plan, build, and test solutions to a unique challenge as they explore the scientific method and engineering process.

Fantastic Forces

Grade 2 - Grade 5

This hands-on program introduces students to friction, forces, and the laws of motion. After experimenting with parachutes, students design and build roller coasters to investigate the fundamental laws of physics.

Forces in Action

Grade 6 - Grade 8

Have fun with physics in this fast-paced workshop. Using roller coasters and parachutes, students explore motion, unbalanced forces, friction, velocity, and more.

Forensic Detectives

Grade 4 - Grade 7

In this “mysterious” program, students use chemistry, physics and observation skills to piece together evidence and crack the case. They learn how to classify mysterious powders, calculate the pH of soils, and perform chromatography to separate pigments.

Habitats

K - Grade 3

Students sharpen their observation skills while exploring why animals live in different habitats. Students will investigate a terrarium, learn about adaptations and learn about how animals use their habitats to survive.
