The Feet Science Center celebrates the opening of Winter Paradice

The First Annual Holiday Extravaganza Opening Saturday, November 23, through January 26.

November 23, 2019

San Diego, CA—Get ready to start a brand-new holiday tradition! The Feet Science Center is excited to announce the first annual holiday celebration, Winter Paradice. Opening on Saturday, November 23, this festive adventure celebrates winter like no other place does, San Diego-style.

Surrounded by waves and sand, visitors are invited to trade in their flip-flops for lace-up skates and take a glide session on an ice rink with a scientific twist. Unlike other ice-skating rinks, this rink is made from advanced polymer compounds.

When done skating, visitors can continue the fun by jumping in the ball pit or sliding down a 31-foot slide in our adult-sized playground exhibition, Pause|Play. This exhibition is an invitation for the young and the young-at-heart to leave the digital world behind, hit pause on their busy lives and recapture the nostalgia of play.

Other activities include getting crafty with ornament making in Studio X, creating new ice cream flavors in Craveology and experiencing all the Fleet’s interactive exhibits.

The Fleet will be open late on select Saturdays and Sundays, beginning November 23 through December 29, with discounted pricing from 5–9 p.m. Visitors can celebrate the holidays with a late skate, sip cocktails rink side (available for purchase) and let the imagination run wild in our interactive exhibitions.

Winter Paradice opens to the public on Saturday, November 23, at the Fleet Science Center and is included with admission.

Skating hours will be assigned starting at 11 a.m. daily and will continue until the final hour the exhibit galleries are open.

Visitors are encouraged to use the hashtag #winterparadice and tag @fleetscience when posting to social media.
