San Diego, CA—The magic is back in San Diego! Jason Latimer, the World Champion of Magic, judge on Syfy's "Wizard Wars" and newly appointed Curator of Impossible Science at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, returns to the Fleet with daily performances during spring break in the Heikoff Giant Dome Theater.

The live show Perception: See Beyond the Illusion will run every day from March 30 to April 5 at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., and continue to on its limited engagement run through April and beyond with performances each Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (excluding blackout dates).

Perception: See Beyond the Illusion combines Jason's jaw-dropping illusions with physics, psychology, chemistry, mathematics and technology. An enlightening and entertaining family-friendly show, attendees can expect to witness a person walking through a solid object, light being bent, water being shaped and countless other illusions, all rooted in applied science.

If Jason's face looks familiar to you, it's probably because you have seen him on the popular Syfy TV show, "Wizard Wars," featuring the legendary Penn & Teller. Jason regularly appears on the show as a judge. Each episode of "Wizard Wars" begins with two teams of magicians going head-to-head with a limited amount of time to create an original routine. Currently wrapping up an extension of their first season, the show has been a huge hit, with the premiere episode on August 19, 2014, conjuring up over a million viewers.

Jason's research and university lectures on the topics of invisibility, teleportation, transformation and making other "impossibilities" possible through applied science has gathered recognition in science and education communities around the world. And now, Latimer will bring his pursuit of "What is possible?" and the promise of more collaborations to the Fleet Science Center as the newly appointed Curator of Impossible Science. The Fleet looks forward to bringing Jason's special blend of science and illusion into other realms of the science center in the future.

"For more than forty years, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center has been a place of inspiration for countless San Diegans," said Dr. Steven Snyder, CEO of the Fleet Science Center. "Now with Jason joining us as our Curator of Impossible Science, we look forward to inspiring countless others to imagine how they can apply science to make today's impossibilities into tomorrow's realities."

"The only thing separating magic from science is the understanding of the situation. Anything we don't understand is magic ... which is why the right question changes everything," said Latimer. "Magic inspires wonder and wonder changes the world. The world was not shaped by its answers; it was shaped by its questions-and that next question could come from any of us."

Tickets to see Jason Latimer in Perception: See Beyond the Illusion are available at the Fleet ticket counter (open daily starting at 10 a.m.) or online at www.rhfleet.org.
