Professor Pokorski earned his biochemistry degree from UCLA and a PhD in chemistry from Northwestern University, focusing on medical diagnostics. At The Scripps Research Institute, he developed viral nanoparticles for drug delivery. Now at UCSD, his lab combines chemistry, biology, and materials science to create new biomedical and sustainable materials. His research is funded by major organizations like NIH and NSF, and he has received several prestigious awards, including the ACS PRF New Investigator Award and the NIH Pathway to Independence Award.
