The Science of Spider-Man's New Challenges

Time: Saturday, July 25, 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Location: Marriott Marquis Hotel Grand Ballroom (Rooms 12 & 13)

Peter Parker might have been erased from the collective memory, but Spider-Man still has battles to fight. The Fleet Science Center brings local neuroscientists, psychologists, and other STEM professionals together to explore the science behind the villains set to terrorize New York City in the upcoming film, and how Spider-Man can handle life on his own amid the chaos.

Grogu's World: The Science Behind the Mandalorian

Time: Saturday, July 25, 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Location: San Diego Convention Center Room 5AB

As the Mandalorian and Grogu embark on a dangerous new adventure, the Fleet Science Center brings local scientists together to look at the science behind the space saga. Neuroscientists, engineers, child development specialists, and even a local Star Wars expert discuss all the important questions: Will we ever have armor like Mando? Is Grogu's evolution similar to that of human children? What would life on other planets really look like?

Calling all space enthusiasts, curious explorers, and lovers of science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Join the Fleet for Mission Control, an immersive science activity room with hands-on activities run by real-life scientists. Co-hosted by collaborators from the Fleet Science Center, IF/THEN She Can, Cosplay for Science, and the Star Warsologies podcast, the event invites attendees to search for alien life, design rockets, build rovers, and more in this out-of-this-world experience.
