San Diego, CA--The Fleet Science Center offers exciting options, both virtual and in-person, to help keep kids active and engaged during fall break. Students in grades 1–4 can learn about science and technology while experimenting with rocket science, exploring the solar system and building their own rover with the Fleet's Astronomy Adventures Fall Camps.

The Fleet's Fall Camps are offered from Monday, November 23, through Wednesday, November 25. The in-person camps take place at the Fleet and feature a full day of fun and educational, hands-on activities for kids in grades 1 through 3. The virtual camps are virtual camp filled with activities that can be done using materials found at home and has challenges aimed for students in grades 2 through 4.

Registration for Fall Camps is now open. In-person camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Prices for all three days are $150 for members and $165 for nonmembers. Virtual camps are daily at 11 a.m. Attendees can sign up for a single day or enroll for multiple days of fun. Prices are $25 per day or $60 for all three days of virtual camps.

Full Camp Descriptions:

In-Person Fall Camps

Grades 1–3

Price:  $150 for members and $165 for nonmembers.

November 23: Astronomy Adventures—Use models to uncover the differences between the planets and replicate some of the tools that scientists use to understand the mysteries of our solar system. November 24: Mars Explorer—Build a Mars rover and create a Mars city while learning about the history of space exploration to Mars and determine how we might one day live on the red planet. November 25: Rocket Science—Get ready for some high-flying fun! Spend the day discovering the principles of flight by building gliders and designing your rocket that will be launched into the air.

Virtual Fall Camps

Grades 2–4

Price:  $25 for one day and $60 for all three days.

November 23: Stellar Solar System—Discover the distance between the planets and explore the formation of constellations in the night sky. November 24: Amazing Astronauts—What does it take to survive in space? Learn about the tools and protective equipment that astronauts use while they live in space. November 25: Virtual Rocket Science—Ready to blast off? Learn about the principles of flight by building rockets and probes to study distant planets.
