San Diego, CA—This summer, the Fleet Science Center turns curious kids into happy campers with science-themed summer camps. The Fleet's Summer Camps provide exciting experiments, intriguing investigations and fantastic fun for kids.

Weekly in-person Summer Camps feature fun and engaging activities for kids in grades 1–6. Full-day camps at the Fleet are all being modified to ensure safety.

In the pre-kindergarten camps, kids will find out how simple machines work and explore buoyancy by building boats. The pre-kindergarten camps are for kids ages 3-5 and all campers must be accompanied by an adult. During the kindergarten camps, kids will explore the solar system and energize their five senses.

Each day of camp will incorporate important skills using science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). Topics include Gross and Gooey Science, Spy Camp, Superhero Science and the always popular Magic for Muggles. Activities are designed to be hands-on, encourage inquiry and make science learning fun and accessible.

Full-day in-person camps are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting on Monday, June 21, through Friday, August 20. Prices for the week-long camps are $300 for nonmembers and $270 for Fleet members.

Additionally, the Fleet offers extended day services for the in-person summer camps. Early drop-off is available 8-9 a.m., and late pickup is 4-5 p.m. Families can choose one or both options to meet their scheduling needs.

Summer Camps extend the Fleet’s mission of bringing science education to students of all ages in ways that are fun, engaging and accessible. By participating in the Fleet’s Summer Camps, kids’ minds stay active during the school break through activities that are both enlightening and enjoyable.
