BE WiSE Application

BE WiSE applications are for students in grades 7 and 8.

Do you love science and want to learn more about STEM? Then BE WiSE is the perfect program for you! Our program engages female and female-identifying students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning experiences in collaboration with the region's research, industry and academic institutions.

To apply for the BE WiSE program, complete our application form during the open application period. To be considered for the program, you will need to include a teacher recommendation and an essay with your application. Once accepted, you will attend a welcome event as your first activity and continue to be invited to various science workshops throughout high school and into college.

We accept 120 students each year, and if you are accepted into the program, you will be assigned a mandatory welcome event. We are excited to receive applications and can't wait to welcome you to our BE WiSE community!

Application Workshop

We are pleased to invite students in grades 7–8 from all over San Diego County and their families to participate in the BE WiSE Program Application Workshop. The workshop will be hosted virtually via Zoom on Thursday, January 25, from 6–7:30 p.m. During this workshop, applicants will get the opportunity to brainstorm their essay submissions with the help of role models and mentors. We encourage you to reserve your spot today.
