The Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park offers the following promotions for qualifying guests to save on admission, including members of the military, senior citizens, teachers, large groups, San Diego residents, college students and more!

Membership

A Fleet Membership gives you valuable deals and discounts. A Fleet membership provides unlimited admission and one free documentary film* per visit. A Fleet Membership offers members discounts on additional guest admissions and additional films; 10% off store, cafe, concessions purchases; discounts on all education programs; and special member events. And a Fleet Membership creates a community that supports our mission of connecting everyone in San Diego to the power of science.

Military Discounts

Every day, we honor active-duty military service members and their families with a 10% discount on admission. Just present your military I.D.

Discount vouchers, good for 20% off admission, are available at the following MWR ticket office locations: 32nd Street, Silver Strand, North Island, Sub Base, Navy Station, Pier 7, Drive Side, Medical Center/Balboa Park, Camp Pendleton, MCRD and Miramar. 

Residents Free Tuesdays: On the first Tuesday of each month, we offer free exhibit gallery admission and discounted theater show tickets for active-duty military members. See below for more information.

Educator Discount

Join our Teacher Partner Program and get free, unlimited Fleet exhibit gallery admission plus an IMAX film voucher—and lots more! Please note: This discount does not apply to college-level, vocational or home educators.

Residents Free Day

Balboa Park organizations offer free admission to students, San Diego city and county residents and active-duty military and their family members with Military I.Ds on selected days for one day each month. 

The Fleet's Residents Free Day happens on the first Tuesday of each month. San Diego county residents, local college students and active-duty military get free admission to our exhibit galleries and discounted Heikoff Giant Dome Theater show tickets. Residents must show I.D. with a local address, students must show their school I.D., and active-duty military must show a military I.D. On the Fleet's Residents Free Day, documentary show tickets are $9.95 for county residents, local college students and military. Stroller parking is required during Residents Free Day.

Groups visiting during Resident Free Day

Reservations are not required on Resident Free Day; please check in at our group check-in table outside of our main entrance. We require one adult chaperone per 10 students for grades 2–12 and one adult chaperone per five (5) students for grades TK–1. Groups who don't meet the minimums will not be allowed to enter the building.

Adult chaperones must properly supervise students in the group at all times during their visit and are responsible for their safety. Inadequately supervised groups or groups causing disturbances will be asked to leave the building.

Kids Free San Diego

The Fleet Science Center is proud to participate in the San Diego Tourism Authority and San Diego Museum Council's Kids Free San Diego promotion. In October, more than 50 museums and attractions throughout San Diego County allow free admission for one child (age 3–12) with every full-price paid adult ticket. You can explore the Fleet and all its regular exhibitions for one low price! Download the coupon on the San Diego Museum Council's website and present it at the Fleet's ticket counter to be redeemed. 

Restrictions:
Promotion must be redeemed at the ticket counter; it is not available for online purchases. Valid for gallery admission only; promotion does not include documentary films. This promotion cannot be combined with any other offer or coupon. It is not valid for field trips or specially ticketed events. Purchase of a Balboa Park Explorer Pass or Go City pass does not qualify as a full-priced adult admission.

Senior Citizens

The first Monday of every month is set aside for seniors to enjoy the Science Center exhibits, a Giant Dome Theater show and a Sharp Minds lecture for only $10! No coupons or additional discounts apply. For more information, visit Senior Mondays. Sharp Minds lectures are not held on holidays.

Groups of 15 or More

Reservations for groups of 15 or more receive 20% off regular admission. This is the best way to save money on a single visit to Fleet Science Center—perfect for company outings, birthday excursions, or community activities.

Balboa Park Explorer Pass

Experience arts, science, history, culture, and more! The Balboa Park Explorer Pass is your ticket to some of the best museums San Diego has to offer. Get the most out of your visit to Balboa Park with affordable and convenient Pass options: Limited (up to four venues), Parkwide (seven consecutive days of access to all participating venues), and Annual (365 days of unlimited exploring!). Annual Pass types include: 

• Family (up to any 2 named adults and up to any 4 named children, ages 3-17)
• Adults (age 18+)
• Senior (age 65+)
• College Student (w/ valid College/University ID)
• Youth* (ages 3-17)

Note: Limited and Parkwide Passes include one documentary film at the Fleet Science Center’s IMAX dome theater. Annual Passholders receive special prices for tickets to documentary films at the Fleet Science Center’s IMAX dome theater. *Youth Passes are currently only available for purchase over the phone.

Go City

Go City San Diego offers multiple San Diego attractions for one low price. Visit Go City San Diego’s website to purchase a package deal that includes the Fleet.
