Fleetster Friday: Meet Kit Medina

It’s #FleetsterFriday! This week, we’re featuring San Diego native, Kit Medina. Kit is a bit of a Renaissance man here at the Fleet. You may recognize him from his memorable MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition live shows. Currently he’s performing over-the-top science shows in Don’t Try This at Home! and leading tours in the Fleet’s newest offering, The Renegade Science Project.

… with an understanding and working knowledge of science, anything is possible!

• What do you do in your free time?

I do strongman training about three to four times a week. Yoke walks, farmer’s carry, circus dumbbell press … you name it! I love to lift heavy and it makes me feel great. I also love to snorkel, hike and help out in the community.

• What is your favorite spot in Balboa Park?

The koi pond, the dog park and Zoro Garden.

• How do you plan to survive the zombie apocalypse?

I’ve already completed a 12-point plan filled with a list of my team members, escape routes and safeholds. I’m not at liberty to divulge any more information.

• If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or to the future?

I wouldn’t go anywhere! I’m all about being present and enjoying the journey to the end.
