To protect vulnerable community members, including our younger guests who are not yet eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination, face coverings will still be required when visiting the Fleet Science Center after June 15.

The Fleet Science Center Stands with Our Communities

The Fleet Science Center joins the communities of San Diego in expressing our heartbreak, outrage and anger over the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. We also acknowledge the countless other unshared stories of victims of racial violence both across the country and here at home. Too many of our fellow San Diegans suffer within a system that attacks their fundamental human dignity.

As a cultural and community organization in San Diego, we are afforded a position of power and we have a choice for how we choose to wield that privilege. We cannot remain silent and thereby sustain an unjust system. We are committed to being part of the change. To do so, however, requires us to confront our own biases and privilege, and to do the difficult, ongoing work of change. We will be steadfast in this work so that we can serve our communities, to whom we are accountable, in pursuit of our shared future.
