San Diego—The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in partnership with Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana has announced the 2015 recipients of the Fleet-Culver Achievement Award. The award was designed to recognize students in grades 7 and 8 who have distinguished themselves in the areas of character, leadership and academics, with special emphasis on science. 

The 2015 recipients of the Fleet-Culver Achievement Award are:

Tommy Sottosanti of The Bishop's School
Mila Spengler of The Bishop's School
Litzy Palafox of Reality Changers
D'Angelo Simmons of Santa Margarita School
Evelyn Hussey of Santa Margarita School

The 2015 award winners represented Santa Margarita School, part of the Oceanside Unified School District on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton; the urban outreach program, Reality Changers; and The Bishop's School in La Jolla, CA. The winners were selected after being nominated by teachers, administrators and enrichment program leaders. Each recipient receives a one year family membership to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.

 

The awards were presented in partnership with Culver Academies, a boarding school in Culver, Indiana. Reuben H. Fleet, founder of the Fleet Science Center, was an alumnus. His ancestor, Alexander Fleet, was a founding principal. Presenting the awards were Lori Fleet-Martin of San Diego, CA, and Darcie Dodds Schott of Orange County, CA, also alumnae of Culver Academies.
