Get ready to meet yourself in the digital world with Digital Me

The Bilingual Exhibition Will Be Making Its World Premiere at the Fleet Science Center on October 9, 2021.

September 23, 2021

San Diego, CA—The Fleet Science Center is excited to announce the World Premiere of Digital Me, a state-of-the-art bilingual exhibition opening Saturday, October 9.
Where would our lives be today without Facebook, Skype, Google or Instagram? What would we do without the internet’s speedy processes and access to infinite information? In Digital Me, visitors can get in the center of the action to explore today’s digital world through over a dozen larger-than-life exhibits in technology, art, play and media, presented from a powerful new perspective.
Guests are invited to meet their “digital personas” by seeing the traces they leave behind and explore how every action is preserved and stored in the history of the internet. In this exhibition, visitors learn how they appear to others online, how information about them is collected—sometimes without even noticing—and how it can affect them in the future.
Digital Me delves into the realms of geolocation, facial recognition, Artificial Intelligence, computer vision, data privacy and more, while including awesomely fun and wacky Insta-filters. This engaging exhibition is suitable for all ages; young children can experiment with modern technologies and surprising exhibits, and adults will gain a deeper understanding of the implications of our presence on the internet.
“The world is moving faster than ever and has a lot of people questioning their private security in the use of their smartphones and digital devices,” said EDG Founder-CEO Amy Noble Seitz. “The reality is technology is not going to slow down; it is only going to be more prolific.”
Digital Me opens to the public on Saturday, October 9, and will be on view at the Fleet Science Center through January 9, 2022. This exhibition is included with regular admission to the Science Center. For more information, visit www.fleetscience.org.
Digital Me was created by Amir Schorr, produced by Madatech: The Israel National Museum of Science, Technology and Space, and is distributed by Exhibits Development Group, USA. This exhibition is presented at the Fleet Science Center in part by the City of San Diego.
