Summer Inquiry Institute 2020

Where: Fleet Science Center
The Summer Inquiry Institute is a three-day professional learning experience for educators in the San Diego area. Join your fellow teachers and experience inquiry as a learner, examine different approaches to hands-on learning, explore NGSS science and engineering practices (SEPs) through phenomena, engage in full scientific inquiry and consider ways to include inquiry in your own classroom.
Graduate-level credit (1) is available through University of San Diego for an additional fee. Educators must first register through the link below and then separately register for graduate-level credit through USD. When registering for both, educators can choose from two sessions: June 10-12 or June 15-17.
Teaching Neuroscience: A Workshop with Backyard Brains

Grades: 6-12 Grade Teachers
Thinking about including human physiology and neuroscience in your current life science, biology, anatomy and physiology, or AP biology course? Or perhaps you are thinking about starting a stand-alone Neuroscience course? Whichever it is, please join us for an all-day workshop featuring the unveiling of the third module of a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-supported Project-Based Neuroscience curriculum from Backyard Brains (BYB).

Since its inception in 2002 the Fleet Inquiry Institute has worked with over 14,000 educators in long-term, on-site and in-classroom professional development programs. We work with community partners to create and implement K-12 grade teacher professional development based on the process of science and learning science through inquiry.
